COMPUTERS IN OUR LIVES

Computers are now a very important part of the life in Britain. Many people have got a private computer. Young people love playing computers games. Computer will control the way we live, in ''clever homes''. They can adjust the temperature; close the blinds, act for a burglar alarm and even turn on the oven. There will be television and internet socks in every room. Are computers overtaking our live?

TRANSPORT

1.8 million people travel into the center of London by train every day.
London Underground is a big train station opened in 1863 and usually called the Tube.
In London also there are a double-decker buses and the famous buses called bandy buses .
Also a lot of people walk in London.
The car isn't a good type of transport in London because it does traffic.

SHIPPING IN BRITAIN

Ships and sea are very important in Britain.
Britain once had the biggest navy in the world. Even today many ships are used for exporting and importing goods and packets. Some people also travel by ship to go holiday business.
The Queen Mary 2 is a very big cruise ship.
It sails from Southampton to USA (New York)
You can visit a museum of maritime history in Liverpool. Outside the museum, there are ships in the parks. Inside you can find out about life on sailing ships. Young men had to climb the raging to put the sails. Its so dangerous!!!!

BRITISH HORROR STORIES

People like to be scared. They love reading horror stories and watching horror movies. Some of the most famous horror stories were written by British writers. The first was published by Mary Sheley in 1818-Frankenstein. Then, Jesus Franco made "Dracula contra Frankenstein" in 1970. Count Dracula was a vampire created in 1897 by the Irish writer Bram Stoker.

THE LAW

The most faumous police station in Brritain is New Scotland Yard in London.
For most people the police are he face of the law. They can arrest people in the street but they also give information.

Supermarkets are so important in the Britain. The five big supermarkets sell 80% of all groceries - That's food and drink. Tesco in the biggest. It's got nearly 2000 shops in Britain and it is the third biggest supermarket in the world. In the larger supermarkets you can buy a lot of good thinks cheaper than the small supermarkets . Now for a lot of people is very comfortable by in the internet.

SOAP OPERAS

Soap operas are most popular TV programmes in Britain.
East Enders: London, Coronation Street: Manchester and Emeralde: Yorkshire are very popular soap operas but the two ,most are East enders and Coronation Street.
Most soap operas are on TV five times a week from Monday to Friday
Many fans read soap operas magazines.
You can buy there magazines every week.

SCOTLAND

Scotland is in the north of Britain. Is famous for it's lakes caught lochs. Scotland is plenty of space. the majority of people live in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Charles mackintosh was a famous designer.
Scotland have got a diferent laws and education system and Parliament then the other parts of britain. The Scotish wisky is famous too. back pipe and skirt is typical of Scotland. Sport: golf highlands events. Millions of visiters com here every year. A lot of they want to visit loch ness the people say is a monster in it...
